Description
We study meson condensation in a QCD setting with four light quark flavours using chiral perturbation theory. In particular, we group the quarks in two isospin-flavour doubletts, including the lighter and the heavier quarks, respectively, and introduce isospin-type chemical potentials for both. Depending on the values of the chemical potentials and quark masses, different types of mesons, pions, kaons, $D$- and $D_s$-mesons, can potentially condense. We map out the associated phase diagram with a particular emphasis on the presence of kaon condensation in this setting, as well as the possibility to obtain phases with a simultaneous condensation of different mesons.
