Description

This presentation will provide an overview of recent advancements in spintronics and spincaloritronics, with a particular focus on compensated magnetic materials. I will discuss the motivations for using these materials and summarize the developments over the past two decades.[1,2]

In the second part of the talk, I will introduce a novel class of materials called "altermagnets".[3] These materials are characterized by collinear spin order and spin splitting in electronic bands. By highlighting our ongoing experimental efforts [4,5,6] with various altermagnetic candidates, I will underscore their differences from conventional antiferromagnets and discuss their potential for advancing spintronic research.
