DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Yannis Georis (Université catholique de Louvain (UC
Louvain))\n\nExtending the Standard Model with right-handed neutrinos (RHN
 s) provides a minimal explanation for the origin of neutrino masses\, via
the type-I seesaw mechanism\, and for the observed matter-antimatter asymm
etry through leptogenesis. An especially appealing possibility would be fo
r the RHN masses to lie below the TeV scale\, making them accessible to pr
esent-day experiments. In this talk\, I will review how the properties of
RHNs are constrained by the joint requirements of reproducing the neutrino
masses and mixings and generating the baryon asymmetry. In particular\, I
will discuss how the testability of the model changes when moving from th
e minimal scenario with 2 RHNs to one with 3 generations. Moreover\, I wil
l examine the effects of flavour and CP symmetries on the model's paramete
 r space.\n\nhttps://indico.physik.uni-bielefeld.de/event/254/
